Hey girl, hey! It’s been a while since I did a mixed media, so I’m enjoying using fabric, paint, pompoms, photo frame and whatever else lands on this! Check out the videos below and use what you’ve got!

Supplies:

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY paint: White Swan
Amazon: Sanding sponge, makeup sponges, thick Stick Fast glue, Mod Podge Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)
Hobby Lobby: Pompom trim, scrapbook paper
Dollar Tree: 4 X 4 photo frame, Halloween banner sign
Walmart: bandana
Stash: Fabric strips, ribbon, beads
Let’s make it!
First video:
I started out by sanding the surface (it’s a Halloween banner sign) to remove the glitter, then painted it with White Swan, dried it with my heat tool and sanded it just a little again.

For the “stars” block, I took the kickstand off of the photo frame and hot glued a square of a blue bandana around the cardboard insert.

I mixed some blue paint colors until I got the color I wanted that would match the bandana.

Next, I dry brushed it with white, sanded it a little, then added it to the banner base with Stick Fast (thick) glue.

For the fabric strips: I tied a knot at one end of the strip and hot glued the knot against the photo frame. I may trim them, we will see!

Next video!
I cut a strip from a 12 X 12 sheet of scrapbook paper that looks like wood, and used Mod Podge to glue it to the top of the banner, then sanded it a bit.

I added more strips and decided the pompoms would be a fun addition! All I need to do now is give it a trimmy-trim and a hanger.

For the hanger, I just twisted some of the fabric strips together and hot glued them to the back, and we’re done!

I hope you enjoyed this project.
Let me know in the comments how you might display your flag banner! Door hanger? Wall art? I appreciate each and every one of you.
Thanks so much for stopping by,
XOXO-Erin
