3D Christmas Tree And “Joy” From The Lizzy And Erin Woodshop Launch!

Hey y’all, hey! Have you checked out our Lizzy and Erin Woodshop November release? It might be my favorite! Click HERE to see all the things, check out the video below, and follow along here on the blog to make your own!

By the way, kids will love this project! Small children can draw on the layers to create “ornaments” and older kids (yes, even teens!) will enjoy putting it together!

Supplies:

Lizzy and Erin Woodshop: JOY Shelf Sitter, 3D Christmas Tree

Amazon: Jutom 45 ft. string of fake Christmas lights, Waverly Antique Wax, DAP Rapid Fuse glue, sanding sponge, Folk Art Metallic Gold paint Click here to check out my crafting essentials (This is an Amazon affiliate link and I may receive a small compensation for items purchased from this link.)

Dollar Tree: Wood plank, Tumbling Tower Game blocks

Hobby Lobby: Falalalala scrapbook paper

Milton’s Daughter: Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint: White Swan, Gypsy Green, Carnival Red

Let’s make it!

We are starting with the Joy Shelf Sitter! I painted the base (from Dollar Tree), the “J” and the “Y” with White Swan.

I traced the “O” ornament on the back of the “Falalalala” paper and cut out the shape. Next I put Mod Podge on it to adhere the paper and sanded the edges.

I dried all of the pieces with my heat tool.

I painted the little hanger part of the ornament with Folk Art Metallic Gold, the top layer of the J with Gypsy Green and the stripes on the Y with Marquee. I glued the layers onto the bases with DAP Rapid Fuse.

I used hot glue to adhere the Dollar Tree game blocks to the base to support the letters.

TIP: Be sure to paint edges!

I put dashes and dots on the letters with my white paint pen. That really made it cute!

Now for the 3D Christmas Tree!

I painted the stack of shapes as one. First I painted the top, then dried it with my heat tool. Next, I put tape over the stack and flipped it over and painted the back. I painted the medallion for the top of the tree with Metallic Gold, and dabbed some gold on the stack.

I painted the base structure with Waverly Antique Wax, then began stacking the layers onto the tree.

Y’all, I found these miniature dollhouse lights on Amazon (see link above). They don’t light up, but are perfect for crafting.

And our projects today are finished!

Have you started your Christmas crafting? Let me know in the comments what you’re making! I appreciate each and every one of you.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

XOXO-Erin
